The Melting Point is the Foundry Park Inn & Spa’s music venue, pub and restaurant. Playing host to a variety of acts most nights of the week, The Melting Point has been dubbed Athens most intimate music venue.
This space has a great mix of Athens history as it was used as the original ‘melting point’ when The Foundry Park Inn was once a true Foundry where blacksmiths crafted fine works such as the UGA Arch and the Double-Barreled Cannon. Exposed bricks and original masonry from the 1850’s survive to this day.

Within the past 2 years, the Melting Point has become more popular for weddings – especially to those couples who wish to host a truly spectacular Athens wedding that is unforgettable to friends and family alike. With its multi-level layout including outdoor terrace, superior sound system and historic character, The Melting Point is one venue that cannot be matched in style and character.

Since the Melting Point is first and foremost a music venue, bands (and Dj’s!) have all they need to keep guests entertained. The venue comes equipped with all sound equipment including a highly skilled sound technician. What’s even better – all catering, planning and service is offered by The Foundry Park Inn. We can even help you to book your band!
The space is great for parties both large and small. Hosting events from 50-350, The Melting point is seemingly the perfect space for a variety of couples who wish to throw a true Athens, Georgia Wedding.

Rachel & Jason – May 21st 2011
Rachel and Jason took advantage of all that The Foundry has to offer, hosting their ceremony, reception, bridesmaid’s luncheon and rehearsal dinner here at The Inn. Their guests and family enjoyed the convenience of a single location, and enjoyed their time together at The Inn rather than traveling around town.
Rachel and her bridesmaids enjoyed their day preparing at Republic salon then relaxing in our Presidential Suite.

Kelley & Michael – A Holiday Wedding
Photographer Jamie Howell beautifully captured Kelly and Michaels holiday styled wedding reception in our Foundry Ballroom. Kelly choose her linen to highlight the blues found in the Ballroom ceiling, and pulled it off perfectly!
The couple opted to host their cocktail hour and dinner buffet in Galleria One, while the main event was held in The Ballroom. Flowers and décor were provided by European Floral design.

Ellen & Trevor decided on sunny July for their Melting Point wedding reception, and their day turned out to be perfect – as seen in their amazing photos.
Ellens bouquet, created by Gardenia Floral Design, was quite possibly the prettiest of the summer.
Photographer Courtney Goldman captured one of the sweetest moments of the day – the first look. Since the bride and groom choose to see one another prior to the ceremony, a wonderful photo op was created.

The bride prepared for the big moment in our Presidential Suite, while the groom enjoyed the day with his groomsmen in our Tradewinds King Suite. Their first look took place on the Melting Point Terrace, then it was off to the UGA campus to get some amazing photos of the couple at their Alma Mater.
Their ceremony took place in Galleria Two, and the couple and their guests partied the night away at their reception in The Melting Point, as The Highballs played.

Conley & Adam ~ A Unique Peacock Themed Fall Wedding
True Athenians with a penchant for great style, Conley & Adam choose The Foundry Park Inn to play host to their friends and family for a wedding weekend full of music and excitement.
Conley, owner of Fleur De Lis Events choose peacock color and feathers as inspiration for her décor. Adam, bassist for popular Athens band Perpetual Grove gathered band members and local musicians to carry their reception through the night.
The Bride selected up and coming designer Wynokia Designs to create custom bridesmaids dresses as well as her fabulous wedding gown and after party dress.
The couples choose to host all events here at The Foundry Park Inn – from their Rehearsal Dinner on The Hoyt House Pavilion, Ceremony in Galleria Two, Reception in The Foundry Ballroom and after party at our music venue, The Melting Point.
